You will soon be able to add PayPal as a payment option in Total Blue System, giving customers the option of using a PayPal account to pay for their order. For those of you that have your e-commerce web site integrated with Mail Order Manager, a.k.a., MOM, there are several of items of which you should be aware. Here's how to integrate PayPal with MOM for smooth processing of web orders:
First, remember that PayPal is completely external to MOM. PayPal transactions -- payments and refunds -- are processed outside of MOM. There is no direct entry of PayPal orders into MOM; PayPal orders can only be imported.
Unlike credit card transactions on most Total Blue e-commerce sites, where card auth and capture are offline processes, PayPal payments are completed on-line in real-time as part of the Total Blue shopping cart checkout. These PayPal orders are then imported into MOM as paid orders. (Most MOM users process payments just prior to shipment, as a batch within MOM.)
In order to import PayPal orders from your Total Blue site into MOM, you must register your PayPal account in MOM. Download and read this Word document on using Paypal with MOM for step-by-step instructions on how to do this, courtesy of Dydacomp.
You will also need to populate PayPal API variables in the configuration section of the admin area of your Total Blue web site (https://www.yourdomain.com/admin/preference/cart). Help with generating this API information is here: https://www.paypal.com/IntegrationCenter/ic_api-signature.html. (Note that this step is required regardless of whether your site is integrated with MOM.)
